Chaturbate’s Success

If any of you follow webcam and cam show sites in the adult industry, then you’ll notice that Chaturbate is being increasingly mentioned around the internet, such as on forums, blogs and other websites. There’s a reason for that, too. Chaturbate is a free webcam show site that cam girls (and guys, trannies and couples alike) can earn money on by way of a tipping mechanism. Since the shows are free and the girls are usually hot, many websites, blogs, and forums have linked to Chaturbate, talking about how a viewer can enjoy a cam show for potentially free. Many “white label” sites are run by affiliates of Chaturbate, so the impressive amounts of linking and Chaturbate discussion has helped the free cam site rank #1 on Google’s search results page for very competitive terms such as ‘sex chat’. After all, when you’re going to view a cam girl’s show, more often than not it’s also to have a hot sex chat, right? So far, Chaturbate has had major success in securing their brand name and establishing themselves as the number one free sex cam chat site on the internet. And with the help of clients who use and enjoy their service and talk about it online, it’ll stay this way for a while! There are many more things that Chaturbate can do to further secure their holdings of number one spots on search engine results pages, but rest assured they already know the drill and are working hard to continue their free live cam sex...

Japanese Porn Is Strange!

If you’ve seen Japanese porn before, you may have thought that it was a little strange. More than likely it’s due to the fact that you’re viewing a different culture’s idea of pornographic pleasure. However, the things that American porn viewers think are strange about Japanese porn are not strange to Japanese porn viewers. If you haven’t seen Japanese porn, here are some of the Jav porn themes which Americans might consider a little unusual. For example, a popular theme in Japanese porn is to be fully clothed. If any part of the body is exposed that is normally covered, the scene will need to be re-filmed because accidents like that take away from the ‘value’ of the film. This type of porn reflects sexual conservatism and perfectionism within the Japanese culture. Not until recently was it even legal to show genitalia without pixelation in photographic images or videos in Japan. Older or vintage magazines and videos featuring this pixelation are now collector items. Another strange theme in Japanese porn is the videos featuring a couple having sex inside a lion cage or some other cage with a dangerous animal. Of course, the subtext here is danger. Nevertheless, the danger is actually minimal since the lion is probably tame and has just been fed before the scene was shot. There’s another type of Japanese porn that is pretty strange as well. Apparently, Japanese find sexual thrills in using tentacles in penetration porn and hentai. Yes, tentacles. The symbolism behind this type of porn may have to do with Jap horror film-esque fear of creepy octopus attacks where the tentacles represent the phallus. And last to this blog post, but not last on the list of bizarre Japanese porn fetishes is the Mother Bird Fetish or Japanese Songbird. In this gross fetish, Japanese girls engage in a porn video where one girl pukes into another girl’s mouth or a guy’s mouth, mimicking how birds regurgitate food into their mouth of their...

James Deen – Can He Cross Over?

There is a lot of speculation about whether or not the male porn star James Deen will be able to successfully cross over from adult entertainment to mainstream entertainment after his role with Lindsay Lohan in the movie “The Canyons”. This movie’s storyline was so pathetic that it didn’t even get picked up by indie film studios, so the director – the iconic Paul Schrader who wrote the screenplays to “Taxi Driver” and “Raging Bull” among other classics – had to fund this film through Kickstarter plus kicked in some of his own cash. While it may be tough for a male porn star like James Deen to switch over to mainstream films successfully, tough but not impossible. One reason in particular is that the general public tends to be a bit irrational and judgmental about porn stars, male or female, not even stopping to think that any of them may have bona fide acting talent. Actors pigeonholed in porno flicks typically won’t get a chance to let it out on the big screen or even the tv screen. At this point it doesn’t really matter though, because the internet community as well as social networks have all been buzzing about this movie and James Deen since it came out. James Deen has the charisma and female fan base to make a successful break from the adult biz. In fact, some of his female fans have been campaigning for him to be cast as Christian Grey in the film version of “50 Shades of Grey”. James Deen just appeared at the Venice Film Festival along with Paul Schrader to pimp “The Canyons”. He was greeted with enthusiasm and partied with mainstream actors and industry execs. Sometimes buzz is...

Internet Porn Purge

Is the internet porn purge coming? Like those who predict the end of the world is coming, there are believers who predict that the porn doomsday is coming, or at the very least, that the access to porn will become restricted on the internet to sites mandated to bear .xxx extensions. Just last week, without an announcement or press release, Bing / Yahoo deleted PPC ads from their adult searches. While adult webmasters and webmistresses are hoping that this same PPC purge will not happen with searches on Google, Google could certainly follow suit. Ironically, Bing had never been known to have an anti-porn agenda, although there is some suspicion that the new CEO at Yahoo, Melissa Mayer, may have had some influence over eliminating the PPC adult search advertising, despite the revenue generation from these ads. Let’s face facts… Pornography is extremely accessible on the internet and, realistically, there isn’t a way to restrict eyes that should not be looking at x-rated photographic images or tube videos. While there are safe search techniques and parental control software packages available, clever ways to circumvent these techniques and software are easy to find, ironically, by doing online searches. Google recently implemented a safer search approach where adult images or webpage results are not returned unless it is extremely obvious that the search is specifically for pornography. The naughty search would need to literally be spelled out in the search box, such as typing in “xxx” or the word “porn” along with the other desired keywords. The Dirty Pond agrees with this format since most general Google searches were known to return a bombardment of raunchy images simply because photos carried the keyword tags or… because adult sites had exploited keywords to display the adult website URLs or images linking to them in the SERPs. Whether an all-encompassing internet porn purge is coming remains to be “seen”, but let’s not bring the political climate into this...

Amazon Sells Sex Toys

Amazon sells sex toys in case you didn’t already know. In fact, Amazon has been selling sex toys on their site for over eight years. But Amazon keeps sex toy sales sanitized by staff who oversee that product descriptions for the sex toys do not contain nudity or that the product descriptions do not contain overly graphic language or profanity. The third party vendors on Amazon sell everything from kinky gear, sexy lingerie and costumes, cosplay accessories, BDSM toys (for which sales exploded after “50 Shades of Grey” piqued buyer interest), to strap-ons, penis plugs for blocked masturbation and ruined orgasms, dildos, vibrators, cock rings, beads, personal lubricants and more. Major brands such as Doc Johnson, California Exotics, LELO, Sportsheets, ForePlay, PipeDreams, Sensua Organics and more sex toy companies offer their products on Amazon. Amazon is the premiere online seller of all types of goods, so why not sex toys, too? The point is that sex toys are becoming more mainstream to sell online. Amazon features over 60,000 sex toys on their website for pleasure seekers or pain seekers. Sex toys are being marketed as products for sexual well-being, sexual health, romance products for couples, gifts and novelties. Other retailers and e-retailers are getting into selling sex toys as well. Target, Drugstore.com, Walgreens, Walmart and even high end department stores like Nordstrom are finding that adult toys are a lucrative niche to take to market. Perhaps our culture is becoming less puritanical when it comes to buying adult sex toys, when in decades past, sex toys were only available at sleazy adult stores or via mail order catalogs primarily peddling porn videos and DVDs. With the porn DVD market dying due to porn availability on the internet, distributors and sellers found that sex toy sales were still on the rise (no pun...

Streaming Site Succeeds Where Static Sites Fail

Most porn surfers are looking for instant gratification. The fewest clicks to stream the hottest porno flicks. Top porn tube sites are thriving because they offer what the porn surfers are seeking. Free porno stream member sites typically require a painless sign-up and give the surfer viewership management options and social networking features. Here is where a streaming site succeeds where static sites fail. BitchyPorn.com is one of the top porntube sites that has combined the features that surfers are demanding including creating their own channels, tagging favorite videos, ratings, commenting, tweeting and Facebook “liking”. Google also likes tubes because the Google Penguin algorithm favors sites with low bounce rates and social signals. Tubes with free porn videos have very low bounce rates and members using social media kickstart the social signals that Google rewards with higher search engine placements. Viewers also prefer to stream videos live rather than buy antiquated porn DVDs. Ownership of tangible media is becoming less important in the virtual world and the same goes for porno media. Another important issue for the surfer is content. Bitchy Porn is stocked with thousands of full length free porn videos and updates content daily to keep viewers cumming back for more. Categories such as Blondes, Brunettes, Redhead, Latina, Amateur, Anal, Asian, Bukkake, MILF, Public, Teen, Toys, Fetish, Ebony, Cumshot, Cartoon, Hentai, Blowjob, Handjob and more will keep any adult movie aficionado glued to the computer screen for their viewing pleasure. HD clips also meet viewer criteria for sharp resolution on...

Google Likes Tube Sites

Given the recent Panda and Penguin updates, Google has awarded higher SERPs to tube sites including xHamster, Pornhub, xVideos, xnxx, redtube and tube8. The tube sites rely on the plethora of traffic they draw to derive ad revenue. Tube site content is primarily acquired from sponsors for promotional purposes or blatantly ripped from pay sites under the guise of user submitted media. Pirated content creates issues for these pay sites trying to stay afloat financially when their expensive content is available on the tubes for free. In addition, content protected from viewing by anyone who isn’t old enough to have a credit card to sign up for a pay site membership, is now viewable on the tubes. Why does Google like the illicit tubes so much? Some conspiracy theorists feel that Google tweaked their algorithm to feature Youtube search results more prominently. Youtube is now owned by Google and is heavily monetized by paid video ads or clickable ads embedded in Youtube videos. So why not tweak their own proprietary algorithm and, therefore, push more traffic to their own real estate and realize even more profits? Makes sense. But other non-conspiracy theorists feel that the algorithm was tweaked to reflect the higher desirability of sites with lower bounce rates and sites with a large number of members. Member numbers tie into the social aspect of the new Google algorithm that awards desirable search engine placement to popular “social” sites. Never mind that these are porn sites. Google is a traffic director and its results are now based on what Google feels people using their search engine would be interested when they type in a term like: small penis humiliation. Now, pages of tube sites return video results for small penis humiliation reflecting low bounce rates, but most of these videos are stolen content. These two elements, bounce rate and social signals, are more heavily weighted factors in Google’s algorithm… Blogs are...

Make Your Own Male Sex Toys

No wonder why my Fleshlight sales have dropped! Men are back to using their hands or cheap, improvised sex toys. Make Your Own Male Sex Toys have been around since ancient times. Archaeological digs have uncovered ancient relics including dildos and fetish items. Flash forward to modern day… Now, just about anything that can be shoved up the butt or wrapped around a dick, is being used as or usurped into a male sex toy. From potato chip cans with foam or bubble wrap inserts as pocket pussies to cucumbers and popsicles as dildos to stretchy rubber bands as cock rings, instead of paying a lot for a sex toy, men are going McGyver and making their own sex toys from items found around the house or for cheap at discount stores or supermarkets. No matter how inexpensive the sex toys for men, such as the Tenga sex toys, where a masturbation sleeve is less than $20, men will always look at any object and think, hmmmm. Part of this is because there is a stigma that for men, using sex toys is gay or not acceptable. So, sex toys are often disguised for discretion as a useful or common object. Even the Fleshlight manufacturers feature Sex in a Can Fleshlights which look like collector beer cans when not in...

Is Domaining Dead?

Is domaining dead? Who really makes a living buying and selling domain names in this market, whether adult or mainstream domains? More domain names are being let go or sold for dirt cheap than ever, including domains saturated with natural backlinks, excellent pagerank, 4 LLLL domains and 10 year old plus domains. A friend who had been a domainer in the early to mid 2000’s shared that she had over 1,500 domains at one point and now only has approximately 100 in her portfolio. Her highest sale was $2,000 for a domain name in 2001. She emailed me with some details to share with The Dirty Pond readers, “Is domaining dead? Good question. I think only the heavy hitters are surviving. Domaining was more of a side business for me. My primary business was, and still is, web design. I knew there were individuals and companies in the domain sales biz who were making a lot of money. I thought if I followed the same principles, I could have a nice sideline income. Not! Overall, I lost money. The annual registrations and privatizations of the adult domains were expensive. As the economy faltered, so did my portfolio. Just like the stock market, all my domain values sank. I ended up giving away domains to friends. Some of my domains are even languishing in domain limbo, meaning no one purchased them when I let them expire.” Popular singer Lana del Rey’s father is a well known domainer who got into the business early. This is one of the ways that many domainers were able to make money, by registering valuable one or two word dotcom domains in the early days of the net. Asian investors also got into the action early registering dictionary words and brand names. These domainers waited for the internet to boom then cashed in on selling domain names for $xx,xxx, $xxx, xxx or even more. Slots.com sold for $5.5 million. Beer.com sold for $7 million ($2 million cash, $5 million in stock value to the investors who bought the domain name for $80K in 1998). Did these domains recoup their investment for the domain buyers and website developers? I would venture a guess that Slots.com did, but I would venture that Beer.com has not recouped in advertising, yet… Having a great domain name is one thing, but monetizing a website, building it into a lucrative business entity is...
